Wreck and Cave is owned and run by Rich Walker. Rich has been diving since 1990, and instructing since 1994; previously with BSAC, IANTD and TDI, but now exclusively for Global Underwater Explorers.
Most of my diving is on wrecks around the UK. Over the last few years I’ve been doing more and more cave diving, and I regularly visit Florida and France. I also have a love for the wrecks and diving over in Norway, and try to get over there once a year when time allows. As an instructor, I’ve seen a vast array of different types of diving equipment, some of it good, some of it bad. I’ve had a lot of experience helping people to set up equipment to make it work for them. I’ve also found that dive shops don’t always sell equipment that is the most appropriate for a particular diver. For these reasons, I decided to set up the Wreck and Cave shop.
It started out as a way of getting information and equipment to divers, but it has recently grown to being much more than that. Wreck and Cave has incorporated GUE training, and most recently an expeditions section. The combination of equipment, education and experience gives the DIR diver all they need in one place.
At Wreck and Cave you’re dealing with someone who really knows what they’re talking about. I use all of the equipment myself, adopted the DIR and GUE standards in my own diving and teaching, and dived in most of the places where I run expeditions. Hopefully, the articles on this site will be useful, and will give some added value to the whole thing.
Rich
